Advances in Parkinson's Disease: 200 Years Later In the future, as people get older, there will be more neurodegenerative diseases. For Parkinson's Disease, doctors and scientists need to find a balance between treating symptoms, how much medicine to give, side effects, and what patients want. Even though we know a lot more about Parkinson's Disease now than we did 200 years ago, there's still a lot we don't understand. Scientists are studying things like genetics, brain scans, and biomarkers to learn more. We still don't have a cure for Parkinson's, but researchers are working on better treatments.
