Exercise for falls prevention in Parkinson disease: A randomized controlled trial Can minimally supervised exercise targeting fall risk factors prevent falls in people with Parkinson's disease? 231 participants were randomized into exercise or usual-care groups, practicing exercises 3 times weekly for 6 months. Primary outcomes were fall rates and proportion of fallers. Secondary outcomes included physical and psychological measures. Fewer falls were seen in the exercise group for lower disease severity. Postintervention, the exercise group showed improved physical and psychological health. While exercise didn't significantly reduce falls, it did enhance overall health.
