At the American Board of Preventive Medicine, Barbara led the improvement and modernization of organizational operations. Responsibilities at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons included project management, issues and information management, communication relations, relationships, and advisory functions for special projects of the CEO and Executive Office. At the American Society of Clinical Pathology, Barbara served as the Principal Investigator of a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The funding supported the development and implementation of continuing education programs for clinical laboratory professionals in third world countries, primarily in Africa.
A native Chicagoan, Barbara completed her undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences at DePaul University and her graduate studies in Organizational Leadership at Lewis University. With southwest Florida being a favorite family vacation destination, Barbara and her spouse decided to leave the lengthy winters of Chicago behind and make Bonita Springs their permanent home in July 2019. Barbara and her husband have raised two beautiful daughters, Elyse and Nicole, who reside in Chicago and Savannah, respectively. |
