Originally from Marblehead MA, Joanne has been coming to Naples since 1997, declaring residency in 2008. A graduate of Boston University, School of Management, she is married and has two children and two grandchildren.
Strong in organizational skills and working with people, Joanne started volunteering as a young mother with the Girl Scouts where, after stints as a leader of Brownie and Girls Scout troops, she become Neighborhood Administrator in her town. In the mid-80’s Joanne joined the staff of the National Grand Bank of Marblehead, resigning when she and husband Jim purchased a home in Pelican Bay. Joanne is a 19 year member of the Pelican Bay Women’s League, holding multiple board positions which culminated in being elected to the office of President for two consecutive years (term limits). Additionally, she served six years (term limits) on the Pelican Bay Property Owners Association. For eight years she served on the board of Fresh Start, a non-profit organization which gives monetary grants to women reestablishing themselves after experiencing domestic violence. Current activities include being Chair for the past 12 years for the Pelican Bay’s Marine Toys for Tots Foundation annual toy drive, volunteering at Avow Hospice Treasures for 17 consecutive years, and participating on eBella magazine as a Director. A graduate of Greater Naples Leadership Class VIII, she remains an active alumna. In January, 2017 she joined the Parkinson’s Assn. of SW Florida. In her “free” time, Joanne can be found haunting local flea markets, non-profit thrift stores and other choice vendors searching for old costume jewelry and other relics of interest! She also enjoys selling on eBay as time allows. |
