Tony Maglione was born and raised in upstate New York. He graduated from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY, was commissioned an officer in the US Army upon his graduation and served tours of duty in Germany, Vietnam and Massachusetts, where he resigned his commission and remained for over 45 years until moving full-time to Naples in 2015.
Tony’s career focused on the human resources profession, specializing in recruiting and employee compensation. He spent over 25 years with a regional recruiting firm in Boston before retiring in 2008. Since then, Tony has remained active with Canisius and its alumni association, being honored to be appointed to the DiGamma Honor Society in 1986 and serving on the College Board of Regents, 1999-2005. He has been a member of the Naples alumni chapter, serving as Chapter President, 2016-18. He has also served on the Boards of a number of Homeowner and condominium associations over the last 12 years. Tony started as a volunteer with the Parkinson’s Association of Southwest Florida early in 2020, subsequently being asked to join the Board of Directors. He serves on the Governance Committee and participates in the ongoing project working with the University of Miami Health System Movement Disorder Center of Excellence, to bring their presence and services to Naples. His mission in life is to contribute to the improvement of the level of care and services available to Parkinsonians living in Collier and Lee Counties. Tony’s involvement came about because his spouse, Sandra Geffert, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2012. |
