Presented by Mildred Octelus, PASWFL Movement Instructor, this PD Talk explores how exercise strengthens neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to rewire itself—helping people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) improve movement, coordination, and quality of life. Recent research shows that exercise stimulates neuroplasticity, helping the brain form new connections that improve movement, balance, and thinking skills—especially for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. What Is Neuroplasticity? Neuroplasticity refers to the brain’s remarkable ability to adapt and reorganize neural pathways in response to learning and activity.
